Ceilidh Fundraiser

On Saturday 18th of October, we hosted our first big fundraising event for CRY, a charity Curry and Ceilidh, organised by the incredible Hilary, Clarissa’s Mother, and friends.

We managed to raise an incredible £45k from direct donations to Clarissa’s memorial fund, and from the auction and sales on the night.

Cambridge Half Marathon 2025

Due to our Campaign, Cardiac Risk in the Young was made an official charity partner of the 2025 Cambridge Half Marathon.

Over 20 of Clarissa's friends and family ran in the places we collected memories with Clarissa during our time at University together. It was an emotional and fantastic day and we are so proud to have raised over £11,000 to support more Heart Screenings for Cambridge Students! Thank you to all of Clarissa’s friends, her family, our amazing runners and sideline supporters.

Clarissa’s Anniversary Games June 2024

On Saturday 22nd June we held a sports day, which included lots of fun sports games that we used to participate in when we were at prep school together. Including: egg and spoon, wheelbarrow, beanbag balance, 3 legged race, sack race, long jump, 20 metre sprint, ball throw and a tug of war to end the day. Clarissa was extremely sporty, winning all the sports day races and breaking every school record. With this in mind we decided to hold a sports day in her memory to raise money for CRY.

Over 50 of us attended the event and we all got very stuck in, including the parents and our old prep school sports teacher! Everyone put their full effort in and it all became quite a competitive sports day with lots of laughter and fun. We had CRY banners, leaflets, stickers and t-shirts all around and had a few members of the public, not involved, giving donations and enquiring about our event. Thank you to everyone who came and who helped raise a massive £620 for CRY in one afternoon!

Oxford Half Marathon 2023

Sunday 15th October saw the Oxford Half Marathon and 15 of Clarissa’s friends ran 21.1km around the Oxford course supported by further friends and family. It was a cold morning but the sun was shining and there was not a cloud in the sky. Clarissa had set it up perfectly. Not only were non-runners running, encouraged by more seasoned athletes, but they all had huge smiles on their faces as they did their friend, herself a keen runner, proud. We raised £21,860 for CRY to support research, screening and awareness of the conditions which can lead to sudden cardiac death.
